When We Are Closed

outofhoursOut of Hours

If an emergency occurs and you need a doctor urgently but the surgery is shut, please telephone 0844 477 3047. There is always an 'on-call' doctor available. and you will be given a number to contact that doctor although it may not always be your own GP.

The surgery uses the 'BADGER' service from time to time. Please only use this service in emergencies. Badger clinics are held at Heartlands Hospital or Whittall Street, Birmingham. Patients will be advised where to attend. A walk-in centre is available at Boots the Chemist, 66 High Street, in Birmingham City Centre.

In the case of urgent need when the practice is closed, call NHS Direct to speak to a triage nurse. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.

Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
